If you’ve been reading my blog awhile, you might have seen last years blog about the Allergy and Free From Show I attended in Liverpool. Since then, I’ve been diagnosed with Coeliac, and so I wanted to return to make sure my search around the show included gluten free as well as dairy free!
I found some fabulous things that I’ve now tried and will definitely re-buy; some of these I’ll write their own blog to. We also spent a few days exploring the city which was a lot of fun!
I’ve mentioned how I found Yorica on a trip to London, so when I saw they had a stand at the show I was so excited to visit! All of their products are free from wheat, gluten, dairy, nuts, eggs and are all vegan- yet for all they’re without, they’re still full of flavour!
Many of the larger supermarkets (Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s) had stands to present their new ranges in time for Christmas. I was particularly excited by the pastry cases which are ready to fill by Tesco- wheat, dairy and gluten free. Asda have some really cool products this year- the FreeFrom Gingerbread House Kit where you can build your own house which you bet you’ll be seeing on my table this Christmas! Keep an eye out this year for the different Christmas ranges in the supermarket- they all seem to really be stepping up their game!
Delicious Alchemy were a brand I found last year at the show, becoming a huge lover of their chocolate brownie. This year I wanted to re-visit to see if they’d got any other mixes I’d like; I picked up some gingerbread biscuit mixes and some vanilla sponge mixes, both of which I tried at the show and loved! I’ll keep you updated on how they turn out!
I’ve not had proper fish and chips for months, so to see these being made I was keeping everything crossed they were gluten and dairy free! They were from Middleton Foods; you can buy their batter mixes online and I would definitely recommend trying them if you’re missing fish and chips as much as I was!
There were a few other amazing finds I was enjoying myself too much to take photos of; Just: Gluten Free Bakery is another find of last year, which I revisited in April when I became gluten free. Venice bakery is my new absolute favourite pizza base; both these things will have their own blog dedicated to them!
There was an amazing talk from Coeliac UK too, which I’ll report more on later!
This was only half of my bags from the show…
If you have the chance to attend one of the 4 shows a year you definitely should, I’ve found some of my favourite free from products there!
